She’s an HR Specialist at Deloitte who understood the value of gaining digital marketing skills to hunt, attract and retain talent, so she enrolled for the Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing 5 day bootcamp. Julia shares why digital marketing skills are vital for everyone, in particular individuals working in the very competitive world of human resources.

What motivated you to enrol for the Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing course?
Here at Deloitte, I am primarily focused on talent acquisition and employer branding which I enjoy immensely. In my line of work, digital marketing is an integral component of our employer brand at Deloitte, so when the ICE Malta team invited me to enrol for a 1-day boot camp designed specifically for HR Specialists I was thrilled. After this study experience, I realised even more how much I can achieve with the right digital marketing skills so I moved on to enrol for the 5-day Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing bootcamp.
Why do you believe digital marketing skills are essential for individuals working in HR?

Individuals working in human resources are now expected to create a culture which is brand-worthy, one that stands out and attracts career seekers, instilling in them brand loyalty and pride right from the start of their employment. I believe that gaining digital marketing insight has become crucial and if you choose not to embrace it, you’ll fall behind.

What did you like most about the ICE Malta Study Experience?
The bootcamp is delivered over five days which was the perfect delivery style for me and other career-driven individuals who have a lot on their plate. I loved that this course is delivered by industry experts, the industry insight shared lifts this learning programme even higher and makes it extremely unique. Also, there is a strong focus on practical learning which meant that we were encouraged to immediately apply our new skills to real-world scenarios and analyse the results.
Why is it important to cultivate a culture of learning in businesses?
Deloitte fosters professional growth and empowers its employees to perform to their full potential by providing access to several learning opportunities. Although I completed my degree 2 years ago, I believe that continuous learning is necessary to excel and remain competitive.
What’s your message to other HR Specialists who aren’t yet taking advantage of digital marketing tools to hunt, attract and retain talent?
Career seekers have unlimited opportunities so HR specialists need to up their game and do everything in their power to attract top talent and keep them loyal and motivated. This is a new challenging task which we can only conquer if we gain digital marketing skills which have now become fundamental for us all.
In a few words describe your ICE Malta study experience.
ICE Malta has provided me with a greater insight into the digital marketing world. The team is really helpful and are always ready to support you while the lecturers are truly the best in the business. After the course is finished, you won’t be just another past student, ICE Malta’s team keeps in touch to make sure that each individual continues to progress. It has been a wonderful experience and I will surely enrol for another course in the near future.
