Career progression is the top priority for so many of our alumni, so when Leo Vegas’ NOC Engineer Jacqueline Borg and her colleagues decided to enrol for the Python course all together, we were thrilled to know that this dynamic and extremely talented team turned to us to level-up. This is Jackie’s story.
What’s working at Leo Vegas like? What are the highlights and challenges of your job?
Working at Leo Vegas is exciting, challenging, and rewarding! This top brand has pushed me closer to my career goals through added responsibilities. My role has given me the opportunity to further expand my knowledge. Seeing the company grow and helping it grow makes life at Leo Vegas a blast.
You successfully completed LPIC-1 in 2018 – what was your study experience like?
I started my learning journey at ICE Malta in 2018 when I enrolled for LPIC-1 and it was one of the best experiences yet. The lecturer made the lesson fun, interactive, and interesting.
Now you moved on to gaining Python skills – what inspired you to enrol for this course?
Python was a missing skill in our team, so we came together and enrolled in the course as a team. Since we have finished this course, I have already been involved in tasks and projects during which I’ve used Python.
What are the benefits of online live learning?
The fact that you get to learn at the comfort of your own home is a great bonus.
What are your career goals for 2021?
In 2021 my goal is to continue expanding my knowledge. Kubernetes is just one example of what I’m planning to learn in 2021.
A message to young talent who aspire to work in the iGaming arena.
Our industry is challenging by nature because it is a fast-growing one and very competitive. My message is to believe in yourself and not let anyone else dictate what you can or cannot do.
The success of the Leo Vegas team is massive and it’s all thanks to talented individuals like Jacqueline who are committed to progressing fast and eagerly take this top brand to the next level of excellence. We are super proud of this talented alumni who will definitely continue to gain more in-demand industry skills and certifications in the months to come.
