ICE Malta launches ‘Design my Career’ week

While hundreds of students enrolled for the Summer Semester 2013 are enjoying the unique ICE Malta Study Experience, the ICE Malta team has been working round the clock to finalize the institute’s marketing campaign for the 2013/2014 scholastic year.

‘The 2013/2014 scholastic year will kick off with an exclusive ‘Design my Career’ week 2013 week of activities which will include workshop sessions by CISCO, Microsoft, Adobe, Autodesk as well as one on one career planning meetings with our newly appointed Director of Studies. We’ve been working on the upcoming scholastic term for months now and we’re proud to share that we will be launching a number of unique industry designed certifications which now form part of the Get Qualified Scheme by Malta Enterprise. We are excited about this unique collection of certifications as students who embark on this programme will all receive 80% of their course fees back as well as a unique mentorship programme. During the 2012/2013 scholastic year a substantial number of  ICE Malta students achieved a Microsoft and CISCO worldwide recognized certification and will be receiving 80% of their course fees back, and we are proud to add more certifications to the list of courses supported by this Funding Scheme.  Once again, we must convey our thanks to the Get Qualified team and all other stakeholders who continue to give us their support and recognize the importance of ensuring that students in the Maltese islands achieve world wide recognized certifications’ Nikolai Sammut, director of ICE Malta explained

Design My Career week will kick off on Monday 9th of September 2013. Students, parents and ICT enthusiasts will be invited to visit the institute, have a look at ICE Malta’s new computer labs, meet the team, discuss career paths and study objectives and attend a series of workshops coordinated by the institute’s prestigious partners. A timetable including all session details will be launched on the institute’s website and social media pages at the end of August.

The ICE Malta Creative team together with vouchercloud will be giving all Farsons Beer Festival visitors complimentary ICE Malta postcards which include an inspirational quote as well as details of the ‘Design my Career’ week activities as well as the opportunity to benefit from a 25euro study credit at ICE Malta. Complimentary ICE Malta postcards will be distributed at the Farsons Beer Festival between Friday, 26th July and Sunday, 4th August 2013 from the vouchercloud area on the Vodafone stand

    WORKSHOP 1: Cisco worldwide recognized certifications the industry wants (and needs). ICE Malta Cisco study path educators guide students through the complete Cisco study path starting from IT Essentials all the way up to the newly launched CCNP. PLUS Europe’s champion, ICE Malta’s very own Ryan Chetcuti shares his Cisco Netriders Experience in California! Interested in becoming a true IT professional? Then this is the workshop for you. WORKSHOP 2 – 101 reasons why programming is the world’s most popular communication tool. When you program, you are a creator. You go from a blank text file to a working program with nothing to limit you but your imagination (and maybe some issues like how long your program takes to run). Programming is like having access to the absolute best set of legos in the world in almost unlimited qualities. PHP, Python, JAVA – not sure where to start? ICE Malta’s director of studies and professional development will guide the way. Interested to figure out where to start? Then this is the workshop for you
    WORKSHOP 3: Why Adobe certifications will always rule the creative world. ICE Malta educators will take you on a tour around the wonderful world of Adobe tools and resources. Prospective students will be the first to learn more about this year’s Malta’s Creative Student Showcase as well as complete study paths which will give creative students the true edge they deserve. Interested in Adobe Indesign, Photoshop or Illustrator? Then this is the workshop for you. WORKSHOP 4 – All about Hobbies, passions & true talent. Video Editing & Photography courses are typically a magnet for Malta’s creative talent – only because these Saturday sessions give creatives the opportunity to kick back and dedicate some time to what they truly love. Eager to take your hobby to the new step? Then this is the workshop for you.
    WORKSHOP 5 - Ok. So what’s so great about Linux? Thanks to its escalating popularity amongst desktop users worldwide, the open source operating system has already been deemed as a serious competitor. Similarly on the server side, many corporations are switching to Linux due to its reliability and speed. So then, what is it that makes Linux so special when contrasted with other OS’s? Why are many people switching to an operating system that is not only free but is not even backed by any multi-million dollar corporation? Interested in Linux Courses? Here’s our recommended workshop. WORKSHOP 6 – Climbing to the top with Microsoft. Microsoft courses rank top in demand skills for high-growth, high-pay careers. Reason enough to learn more about how Microsoft study paths can truly give you the edge. Eager to make your CV shine? Then this is the workshop for you.
    WORKSHOP 7 – Autodesk, your CV’s shining light. Does your CV need an Autodesk course? ICE Malta educator will share the latest Autodesk news and will give you more than one reason why your CV needs an Autodesk certification. Interested in AutoCAD 2014 User & Professional Level? Than this is the workshop for you. WORKSHOP 8 - Want a career in the game design industry? Here's how. ICE Malta's Creative Student Showcase has had a great amount of success stories. Students who had a passion for games are now working their dream job! You can achieve the same success! ICE Malta educators will share news regarding this semester Game Design study paths and details about the ICE Malta Study Experience giving you the opportunity to work for game design industry leaders. Interested in Game Design, Maya, Game Development with Unity, 3D Studio Max? Then this is the workshop for you.
    WORKSHOP 9 – Web Design vs Web Development. Does the feud really exist? If you don't work in the tech industry, you may not know the difference between web designers and web developers. In fact, there are many differences between these two professions. From qualifications, to job duties, to salary, developers and designers don't have too much in common. Interested in Web Design & Web Development courses but not sure where to start? Then this is the workshop for you.
