Android Grabs Top Position in Smartphone OS Chart

A latest market share chart has revealed that Google’s Android platform ranks top in the Smartphone market in the United States.

A graph report released by Neilsen Wire on Thursday morning has reinstated that Google’s Android Operating System claims the biggest share in the current American Smartphone market with 39 percent. Google’s OS is followed by Apple’s iOS with 28 percent overall Share in the US.

Critics and market experts have shared their common belief that since iOS is solely a product by Apple Inc. and does not share it with any other manufacturer, it is bound to become the top scorer in the current competitive Smartphone market. Google, despite higher numbers is put down since the OS is used by several manufacturers coming up with different models, technology and designs every other day.

The data reveals that the 39 percent share claimed by Android is a collective result of HTC’s 14% for Android, Samsung’s 8%, Motorola’s 11% and other manufacturers hold 6% of the total whereas iOS’s 28% is completely Apple’s claim which does not even include iPad and iPod Touch.

Research in Motion’s BlackBerry has gone down to 20 percent share grabbing the third spot in the market.
