Where are you now and what’s your next career goal?
I am super proud to say I am working for Raketech, leading online affiliate and content marketing company as a Graphic Designer Intern. Ever since I can remember, my goal was to join a leading tech company which supports and believes in their employees’ dreams. Next, I’m working towards becoming a full-time Graphic Designer with this awesome brand.
How has your ICE Malta study experience been instrumental?
Put simply, ICE Malta’s MySuccess Graphic Designer Associate course got me one step closer to reaching my dreams. As an international student with only 4 years of English speaking experience, I was originally hesitant to start learning a new industry-recognised course in a language which wasn’t my mother tongue. ICE Malta’s team welcomed me and made me feel comfortable and confident from the very start of my learning journey.
How would you describe your collection of work?
Having a portfolio with a variety of design work is crucial, it’s the secret to success. Presently, I am concentrating a lot on iGaming and Casino related projects so my portfolio reflects my ambitions to remain in this industry. However, as a beginner, I feel it important to show a strong collection of diverse work which showcases my skills using the in-demand industry tools by Adobe. In fact, I also made time to work on a number of projects for NGOs which helped me gain even more experience.
What part of the study experience did you love?
My incredible instructor has a real passion for design. His experience working for top brands is amazing and his industry insight really comes in handy. I really enjoyed building strong foundations for the career I’ve always aspired to score – I’m a proud ICE Malta student.
What do you enjoy working on most?
I truly love working on illustrations, photo manipulation, branding and typography. I am super passionate about anything design related and I I love learning new techniques and experimenting with new tools and styles.
Where do you get inspiration from?
It’s important to constantly be surrounded by the content which will inspire you to create your own interpretation of beautiful, powerful work. I constantly read design/art themed articles and magazines as well as follow quite a number of websites, YouTube channels and prominent industry influencers.
What’s your message for aspiring design talent?
My goal was always clear and this helped me to keep focused and design a learning journey based on my aspirations. – I want to become a Graphic Designer and work in the iGaming industry. You have to listen to your feelings, don’t be afraid to begin a new career. Learning is the best investment, no matter how old you are.
