It takes a special kind of creative to have the insight, personality, business stamina and drive to work with a diverse portfolio of clients at sought after award-winning brand consultancy firm BRND WGN. Extraordinary talent such as Kimberly, remain at the top of their game because they incorporate learning in their lifestyle. She’s recently completed the Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing and this is her story.

Why was digital on your learning list?
Working at a brand consultancy over the years, I have been involved in a number of different projects, both offline and online. Working with the strategists to the techies and the creatives, allowed for a great intake of knowledge which helps me be a better advisor to my portfolio of clients, on a daily basis. As an advisor, you’re positioned as being a jack of all trades, however, I always try to make time to master some specific skills. Taking on digital marketing meant refining my craft in order to help guide my senior clients better on the digital marketing spectrum.
What made your study experience at ICE Malta different?

The course itself is very hands-on which is something I look for when taking on a new course. Both the staff and the lecturers were very friendly which made the whole experience easy and stress-free. The team was very welcoming and always ensured everyone was well fuelled with coffee, water, and food throughout the course. As for the lecturers, they were patient, engaging, and very helpful, even after course hours. I particularly liked the fact that ICE Malta provided all the tools and course material on their online portal, helping students like myself, access it anytime and anywhere. The fact that I could choose my preferred exam date, was very convenient since I could work around my work and daily schedule.

What is working at a brand agency/consultancy firm like? Why is it rewarding?
It’s very fast-paced and time, honestly, disappears since I’m constantly planning projects ahead of their launch date or deadline. I’m not gonna lie, it does get stressful at times but I wouldn’t change it for the world. I enjoy working with my clients and with our internal teams – everyone has one goal in mind i.e. to achieve brand excellence. I’m lucky to say that I work with a lot of passionate people who are experts within their field, which helps me learn something new on a daily basis. I love the fact that I’m able to bounce between different projects and different clients – from a young colorful startup to a big corporate company – learning a lot in the process. And this is also why it’s rewarding; the weeks spent, sometimes months, learning about a client, understanding their needs, and executing solutions for an end-goal, makes it all worthwhile when a project launches into the market.
What do you believe is the secret to career success?
Passion. If you have passion, then you’ll do everything from the heart and always strive to be better and continue learning.
Your message to students.
Never stop learning, challenge everything and keep asking why. Do whatever makes you happy and follow your passions because that’s what will help you grow and be the best version of yourself.
Kimberly has a great grounding in her craft as well as a curiosity to explore, research digital marketing methodologies and keep learning. We’re confident that we will be celebrating tons of career success with her in the very near future.
