From intern to designer at a top iGaming brand in less than 6 months. Reconnecting with Diana.
Diana enrolled for the MySuccess Graphic Designer Associate course knowing that world-class learning was the key to scoring a rewarding career at a top iGaming brand. When Raketech offered her an internship exactly after she completed her study programme, she said yes to this opportunity as she knew that it was her golden chance to impress – back then we celebrated her story. In less than 6 months she was offered a full-time position she now loves and here we are celebrating this talented alumni once again. This is her story.
From an intern to a full-time position at a top brand like Raketech – what was the secret to your success so far?
The secret is enthusiasm, curiosity, and cooperation with the team. Even though my title was an intern I treated the job as if I was a full-time team player and I challenged myself as much as I could. My awesome colleagues guided and supported me from the very first day hence my accomplishment is partly their success too.
What did you learn from your internship period?
My 6 months internship couldn’t have been more exciting, intensive, and educational. In fact, apart from being my first experience working at an iGaming brand, it was also my deep dive into a remote working experience too. I had the chance to get to know new tools and use them on a daily basis and I learnt so many tricks and techniques that helped me to boost up my design workflow. I was able to follow my experienced colleagues’ creative process and implement their technique in my daily tasks too.
What is a day at Raketech like for a junior designer?
My days are inspiring, exciting, complex, and include a variety of design projects. I try to be as organised as possible by setting up my weekly and daily goals to keep myself focused and productive. Banner designs, logos, and icon updates, designing infographics or photo manipulated images are day-to-day tasks that I can now handle independently and in an agile manner. Listening to my experienced colleagues’ advice is crucial and has provided me with such an opportunity to grow and learn.
What impact has world-class learning made on your career?
World-class learning literally opened the door to a lot of interesting and beneficial opportunities and thanks to it I have a new career now. My incredible instructor’s passion for design empowered me to take her lead. I had a very thrilling year and I know that I have a bright future with Raketech.
Your advice to talent regarding the power of an internship.
I highly recommend an internship. It gives you real working experience and a very strong base for your career. You can get to know experts from your profession and easily learn from them. You can practice how to complete projects with strict deadlines and improve your problem-solving skills. You will have the chance to pick up new techniques that will help you to produce higher quality work. Using your internship experience in your CV is a door opener. Don’t be afraid of setting the bar high, challenge yourself, and stand out.
