Digital Marketing skills for all start-ups. Meet Andrew.

From the start of their business journey, start-ups across all industries build a strategy for their brand based on the challenges that their product or service solves. They also gain the industry insight, in-demand skills, and certifications to confidently take their new company to the next level of success. For Tminta‘s co-founder, Andrew Deguara, the Diploma in Digital Marketing was an essential part of his new company’s beginning. This is his story.

Why should entrepreneurs across all industries gain digital marketing skills?
Knowing your audience, being able to communicate and build relationships with people who end up being customers of your brand is at the core of marketing. There has been a massive shift to online, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic struck, and more than ever before I believe that all entrepreneurs across all industries must gain digital marketing skills – it’s how we communicate.
Tell us about your brand new company Tminta.

Simply put, Tminta is a platform built for freelancers and self-employed people. Thanks to Tminta anyone who offers any type of service in Malta can list their services and get discovered for free.

How will your new digital marketing skills help your brand grow faster?
The Diploma in Digital Marketing has helped me understand a lot better how to utilise social media platforms, how to set up & calculate KPIs and how to make a brand and platform more visible. I also have a clearer idea of how to deliver our message more efficiently and effectively. Apart from being more confident in this area, I can discuss potential digital marketing campaigns better with my Tminta team.
What part of the study experience did you enjoy the most?
ICE Malta offered a delivery option to study at my own pace, this gave me the freedom and flexibility to take charge of my learning journey. Throughout, the course was very interactive and I had access to tons of insightful courseware and additional resources to support my journey to achieving this certification.
What’s next for you and the Tminta team?
We want Tminta to become a tool for anyone offering services in Malta both as a side hustle and even as a main source of income. We know that Tminta can contribute a lot for the greater good of the Maltese community by proving an opportunity for talent to shine as well as a helping hand to anyone providing services in Malta.
Your advice to talent who have a start-up idea and need some motivation.
Despite knowing that failing is a possibility, having the courage to trust your intuition and moving ahead in full force is something to be proud of. If you don’t try you will never know.
What’s the next step in your learning journey going to be?
Through valuable networking opportunities, I continue to be encouraged to step out of my comfort zone, be creative and let our love for innovation lead the way.  As for my academic education, the next step for me is completing a Master’s Degree in either Business Management or a Postgraduate in Digital Marketing.
Whether entrepreneurs enrol for the Diploma in Digital Marketing at the start of their new business venture or along the way, we are always so proud to see them grow their brand thanks to their digital marketing skills. We wish Andrew and the Tminta team all the very best and can’t wait to celebrate their next milestone.
