Vodafone Android Village Event

Android fans and smartphone users will have a field day at the Vodafone Android Village that is set to take over the Tigullio car park in St Julians, from Friday September 9 to Sunday September 11.

A free and fun event for all the family, the Vodafone Android Village promises to be a three-day mecca for all things Android. Young techies and gamers will enjoy trying their hand at a number of popular games that are the current rage.

Angry Birds, which was a hit during the Farsons Great Beer Festival will now have a life-size set-up and a real human size slingshot will be used to defeat the Green Pigs. Velcro Defiance will test gamers’ wrist skills as they throw balls at Android Men with different score points.

Calling all darts experts H20 Vindication will have players pinch the water balloons held up by Vodafone’s Android Man. The traditional Vodafone F1 Simulator will allow participants to feel the thrill of F1 driving. The event will host an array of other mobile games with screen projections. Top scorers will be awarded and winners will go home with the latest HTC Wildfire S. Android and Angry Birds merchandise will also be given out during the event.

The Vodafone Android Village will have a Kids Area animated by Barney, Mickey and Minnie, Winnie the Pooh and many more characters loved by children. Food, drink and entertainment are a staple. The Artists’ Corner is where a real-life painting will be carried out by using the HTC Flyer Android Tablet.

“We’re all hands on deck to put up the most exciting tech event to happen in Malta,” said Karl Galea, Terminals and Online Senior Executive at Vodafone Malta. “With the help of the St Julian’s Mayor to whom we are extremely grateful, the Vodafone Android Village promises to be a whopper event of hi-tech gadgets, games, competition, colour, and fun for all the family.”

And to satisfy the ever-growing requirement of internet data by an increasing number of discerning customers, Android phones and tablets will also be sold at heavily discounted prices, with discounts of up to €300 and featuring the cheapest smartphone on the Island. New subscribers at the Android Village will be given one month of free data with every smartphone sold and with every smartphone plan 2 months free access fee will be awarded. The Vodafone Android Village will open at 8 pm on Friday and Saturday and at 4 pm on Sunday.
