As part of ICE Malta’s sponsorship commitments for the 2013/2014 year, the leading ICT institute has confirmed its first SPORTS sponsorship agreement for 2013. ICE Malta have secured a sponsorship agreement with the Malta National Rugby Team kicking off during the highly awaited 6th April 2013 World Cup qualifier match against Switzerland

‘Rugby is an ideal fit for ICE Malta and is a significant component of ICE Malta’s sponsorship portfolio for 2013. It provides a perfect opportunity for the institute to build stronger relationships with clients, increase brand awareness and align with a sport that has national appeal’, Nikolai Sammut, principal of ICE Malta explains. ‘At the end of the previous semester, we launched our STUDY. UNWIND. REPEAT philosophy which we constantly share with students attending our institute. Our aim is to encourage students to invest in their ICT knowledge yet also strive to achieve a balanced lifestyle which includes study time and personal time dedicated to music, sports and travel. This sponsorship agreement is our way of showing our national pride and support to Malta’s highly successful Rugby team who have really and truly become our national sports heroes whilst encourage students to practice their preferred sporting activity’ Nikolai Sammut continued

This sponsorship celebrates the ICE Malta brand as a leading ICT educational name whilst encourages a style of marketing which creatively engages with customers and Rugby fans and above all celebrates the institute’s affection to what is National and truly Maltese.

MRFU President Martin Galea said of this new sponsorship, “We welcome the sponsorship from ICE Malta. Malta Rugby is grateful to those companies who support the sport in Malta, without whom we would not be able to participate in international competitions where we have consistently performed well. Malta’s ranking in the world tables at 42nd and 17th in Europe (the latter out of  about 47 European countries) shows the seriousness and dedication of the players and supporters of the rugby community here in Malta. The generous financial support also helps to develop the game locally where the numbers and players is growing every year.”

The ICE Malta team will be launching a number of social media competitions for Rugby enthusiasts to win exclusive complimentary tickets for the April match. Competition details will be launched on the ICE Malta Facebook page on Monday 18th March at noon while more campaign details will be revealed on www.icemalta.com
