Form 4 and Form 5 students may now benefit from a 10,000euro investment in ICT studies thanks to ICE Malta

Following the country’s 2015 vision, positioning ICT as one of the seven pillars forming part of the country’s strategy aiming to make the island a centre of excellence in IT, ICE (Institute of Computer Education) Malta, has embarked on innovative cash back campaign for Form 4 and 5 students attending government, church and private schools. Freshly launched ICE Plus, is part of the institute’s social corporate responsibility towards the investment of further ICT education and training for students and the younger generation.

Through ICE Plus, 200 students will be able to book their preferred ICT ICE courses and develop their skills in graphics and design, social media, gaming, video, and other areas of information technology and receive a 50euros cash back resulting in a significant initial 10,000euro investment from one of Malta’s leading ICT Institutes. Malta ranks second on the list of Europe’s most IT advanced attracting ever greater investment from ICT businesses. This is a clear indication that we need to continue to find ways of encouraging students to widen their horizons and invest time and further studies in the possibility of a future career in IT. Although young people are comfortable with technology, we must continue to help them develop their skills and to make the best of the tools available. The newly launched ICE Plus, reflects part of our constant ongoing commitment to the future growth of our island’s ICT industry. (Nikolai Sammut, ICE Malta School Principal)

Presently the ICE Malta team is visiting all secondary schools and has kicked off a series of complimentary presentations and workshops for Form 4 and Form 5 students interested in exploring the possibility of a career in ICT. The interactive presentation includes an outline of the upcoming 2013 February – June course schedule, an introduction and visual presentation of all the upcoming world-wide recognized certified courses, one on one discussions and consultations with students and their parents in choosing career paths as well as details of the ICE PLUS campaign.

‘We are positive that schools, students and parents will appreciate our continuous commitment to continue to make ICT learning experiences more enriching and we are looking forward to encouraging more students to learn more about the benefits of a career in ICT’ Mr. Sammut concluded.
