ICE Malta sponsor Science in the City’s Tech Area
awards – presentation
As part of ICE Malta’s CSR for the 2013/2014 academic year, the institute has confirmed a series of sponsorship agreements with a number of established event organizers, events designed to continue to create awareness for the ICT industry as well as encourage students to consider ICT studies no matter which career path they decide to embark on. ‘Events play an important part of our outreach programme. We are regularly involved in debates, seminars, foras and other opportunities where we are invited to share our thoughts about the ICT educational sphere as well as put forward our vision and ideas for the ongoing ICT campaign in the Maltese islands. Apart from visiting schools and our recently launched ‘Your Classroom. Their Future’ conferences for educators and B.Ed students with the aim of communicating the importance of the integration of ICT in local classrooms, we’re also proud to support some of the island’s most popular events. Science in the City’s Tech Area is undoubtedly one of our most prominent events we’ve decided to support’ Nikolai Sammut, ICE Malta director explained.
Science in the City, Malta’s Science and Art festival, is on Friday 27th September from 6.00pm onwards. During the festival, Valletta will be filled with art and entertainment all connected to science including street art installations, graffiti art, music concerts, art exhibitions, children’s shows, live experiments, talks, tech areas, and promises to be  a memorable night which is fun, interactive and free.  In the TechLab area, sponsored by ICE Malta together with other prestigious partners such as MITA, all different disciplines are coming together to showcase the science behind the technology. The area will also include documentaries, quizzes, demonstrations, plays, art installations, dancing and entertainment. The ICE Malta team encourages students, educators, social media friends and ICT enthusiasts to visit this year’s Tech Area during Science in the City festivities.
