As part of ICE Malta’s reaching out campaign during the 2013/2014 academic year, the institute has joined hundreds of educational entities all over Europe to celebrate European Robotics Week.

‘During this open doors event we are welcoming private, public and church schools from both primary and secondary levels to the institute, for a complimentary three and a half hour session dedicated to the wonderful world of Robotics and ICT. During the workshops students have the opportunity to learn more about the history of Robots and take part in open labs and challenges. We’ve also designed a short interactive presentation where students learn more about ICT careers and study paths. These events compliment our corporate social responsibility initiative entitled ‘ICE Plus’ for both educators and students, wherby students who are eager to embark on one of our worldwide recognized certifications benefit from a 50euro study voucher – this may also be used for Robotics courses scheduled for the Summer 2014 Semester’ Nikolai Sammut, director of ICE Malta explained.

Five primary and secondary schools will be visiting the institute between the 25th and 29th of November 2013 as part of the EU Robotics week celebrations. The ICE Malta team have now confirmed that they will continue to offer complimentary ‘Welcome to Robotics’ workshops on a monthly basis during 2014. Educators and schools interested in visiting the institute may send an email to [email protected] to coordinate their visit.

Happy EU Robotics Week!
