👩‍💻 Coding sponsorships to empower female talent.

ICE Malta is delighted to confirm that eSkills Malta Foundation will be offering full sponsorship for 30 females to enrol in the Programming Basics with Python Workshop this October.

Over the course of three online live classes, this workshop is designed to introduce females to the world of code through one of the most in-demand programming languages in the world: Python. The workshop will be led by ICE Malta’s industry expert, who will guide students through a series of practical projects that encourage them to partner soft skills such as problem-solving with the confident, effective use of code.

Since the demand for digital skills continues to grow both in Malta and internationally, these sponsorships represent an invaluable opportunity for females to level up their tech capabilities, explore new concepts, and develop a keener understanding of how programming supports digital growth. Overall, the aim is to encourage and support the transition of talent from underrepresented groups and communities to the tech sector.

We’re excited to see more and more females entering and thriving in the tech sphere every year. Initiatives such as the eSkills Malta 100% sponsorships help to nurture key practical skills and boost individuals’ career prospects, and in so doing contribute to the creation of a more diverse and productive industry workforce.

From tech-newbies to aspiring coders, entrepreneurs to team leaders; this programme is open to any female individuals with zero or very limited programming experience. Students will benefit from personalised educator support and the online lesson playback feature that allows them to revise course content at their own leisure. By the end of the course, students will have built their first program from scratch whilst strengthening their analytical and critical thinking skills.

Enrolment is on a first-come, first-served basis, so students are encouraged to confirm enrolment as soon as possible since the demand for seats is high. Enrolment may be completed here.

ICE Malta is committed to continuing to develop strategies to address the challenges of gender diversity and the empowerment of women in the STEM fields by deepening females’ hands-on computing experience, changing women’s perceptions of computing, and in turn, giving the ICT industry the opportunity to employ a larger amount of females – hence strike a better balance.

*The term ‘woman/females’ includes people of all colour and age who identify with the female gender including yet not limited to non-binary individuals.
