The CISCO NetRiders 2013 Winners
The ICE Malta team together with Malta Enterprise, The Get Qualified team, special guest Luca Lupore from the CISCO headquarters visiting specifically for this occasion, students, CISCO finalists and friends, gathered for Malta’s first CISCO Netriders prize giving celebration.
ICE Malta, host school for both the 2013 and 2014 edition of this competition, welcomed students from various institutes and embarked on this opportunity to give students to create more awareness for CISCO global activities, promote the Get Qualified Scheme whereby students obtain 80% of their course fees back upon successful completion of CISCO Networking, as well as to position the Maltese islands back on the CISCO global map. All students studying CISCO Networking in any of the island’s recognized ICT institutes were invited to take part in the National finals giving them the chance of winning a trip to the CISCO UK Headquarters, gifts as well as the title of CISCO ambassadors for Malta representing the islands in the finals in September 2013.
The official CISCO Netriders 2013 results are:
- FIRST PLACE – Ryan Chetcuti, Institute of Computer Education
- SECOND PLACE – Reuben David Spiteri, Institute of Computer Education
- THIRD PLACE – Iommi Underwood, Institute of Computer Education
All three ICE Malta students will be taking part in the CISCO Netriders 2013 finals together with more than 10,000 students from all over the world. ‘While we congratulate the top three students as well as all our finalists, we are now geared up to prepare Malta’s CISCO ambassadors for the September finals. Together with their tutors, all three finalists will embark on a number of sessions to prepare themselves for the international competition and hopefully secure their place in the top 17 and win a well deserved CISCO study trip to California. As an institute we are extremely proud of the results achieved by our students and look forward to welcoming more CISCO students for our unique ICE Malta study experience’
