An outstanding result for ICE Malta. A new record for Malta.

ICE Malta’s talent, Kirsten Ciantar has placed first and secured his spot for the Cisco NetRiders 2017 Round #3 finals. His classmate, Silvio Sammut has also qualified for Round #3 placing a respectable 6th place while ICE Malta students Thomas Scheiber, Aaron Micallef and Noel Zammit have placed in the top 100 list. Therefore, Malta has not one but two students representing the islands in the final phase of this prestigious competition. This is an outstanding result for leading ICT Academy ICE Malta and a new record for Malta.

Malta is part of one of the most challenging groups and competes with students from Europe, Russia and CIS. Notwithstanding, Kirsten has secured the top place, and really there are no words to express how excited and proud we are. Cisco NetRiders is undoubtedly the world’s most challenging and prestigious showcase of IT talent and securing two spaces in the finals and achieving first place in this Round is nothing less than an incredible feat. – Nikolai Sammut, ICE Malta Co-Founder.

Back in 2013, Ryan Chetcuti placed first in the final round and won an all expense paid study trip to Cisco Headquarters in California, in 2014, ICE Malta student Christopher Demicoli placed second, in 2015 Pavel Roth who was the first student to face three rounds instead of 2 yet still managed to secure his spot in the Round #3 finals and this year Malta is back in the game thanks to Kirsten and Silvio.

One thing is sure, ‘we’re in it to win it’ and ICE Malta will give both students the mentoring required to ensure that they perform exceptionally in the final phase of this competition. Furthermore, these results continue to confirm that our world-class study experience is the ticket to success and when supported, our local talent put Malta in the spotlight and show that we’re truly an island brimming with talent. – Nikolai Sammut, ICE Malta Co-Founder.

Round #2’s top twenty scores advanced to Round #3 which will be held in September 2017. The Cisco NetRiders Round #2 official results may be viewed here.
