60,000euros worth of scholarships for local creative & coding talent

During 2014 local creative and code talent have the opportunity to win a game design or game development scholarship study programme during a national wide competition and talent search hosted at ICE Malta in collaboration with Malta Enterprise.

‘During each academic year we meet local and international game design and development companies which are already based in the Maltese islands or which will be launching their business and project here in the coming months. During these sessions, industry leaders share what talent they are looking to employ as well as which certifications and skills they expect their potential employees to have to be considered for their various vacancies. This relationship with the game design and development industry helps us clearly define what sort of skills, practical experience, knowledge and certifications the industry needs to ensure that as a leading ICT educational entity we guide students to start study paths which will lead to career opportunities – locally and all over the globe. We believe that all recognised educational entities should communicate and work closely with the industry as it is our duty to make sure that local talent – our students – are given a direction based on their capabilities, talents and career aspirations and realize the potential of ICT Studies‘ Nikolai Sammut, Director of ICE Malta explained.

The competition for creative and coding talent will be launched before the Summer and the top 32 participants will win an all expense paid study experience which includes mentorship sessions, a worldwide recognised study programme leading to an international certifications and an interview with a game design or game development company based in the Maltese islands for a vacancy or internship programme in this multi-billion euro industry, an investment of more than 60,000euros worth of study programmes ensuring that by 2015, 32 individuals will have all the skills, certifications and practical experience required to start a career in the industry they always dreamt of being part of.
