Top 🖐️ takeaways from this year’s report.
- Python
is the most wanted language for the second year in a row, meaning that it is the language that developers who do not yet use it most often say they want to learn. Python has a solid claim to being the fastest-growing major programming language. - JavaScript
is the most commonly used programming language for the sixth year in a row. That’s right. when it comes to trending programming languages and frameworks, JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks reign supreme. - MySQL & SQL Server
are the most commonly used databases – just like last year. - Linux
is once again the most loved platform for development, an astounding 48.3% of developers prefer Linux. - 81%
of professional developer respondents enjoy coding as a hobby.
The coders who are on top of their game have a certain flair, agility and creativity in their technique. They are life-longer learners and they get paid for doing what they ❤️ – this is what makes them shine.
Surprise. Surprise. 🎁
More than 60% of coders actually enjoy exercising. Yes for those who assumed that coders were just bacon-loving, soda-drinking, anti-exercise sorts – you have another thing coming.
